Work & Methods

A system for creating systems with AI

The methods, frameworks and systems I have developed are themselves substantive work-products. I then apply, combine and extend them to create further work: learning systems, capability architectures, human–AI operating models, programmes, workflows and other structured outputs.

OOZLE is the consulting practice through which I undertake this work and the name of the overarching, evolving system for creating further systems with AI.

Created work

The methods are part of the work

They are not labels added after the work or merely private techniques. Each was developed to address a defined class of problem and can also provide reusable structure for later work.

These are selected public descriptions rather than a complete methodology catalogue. Unstable phase sequences and the developmental OOZLE taxonomy are not published here.

Work-product lineage

How one body of work creates another

This is the central OOZLE pattern: create systems with AI that can produce further work and improve through governed application.

  1. 01

    Original work-product

A method, framework or system is created to address a defined class of problem.

  2. 02

    Applied domain system

It is applied, combined or extended to create a learning, capability, work or operating system.

  3. 03

    Further work-products

That system produces repeatable programmes, pathways, activities, workflows, decisions, tools or other outputs.

  4. 04

    Governed renewal

Evidence, use and changed requirements feed a controlled cycle of review, versioning and improvement.

Applied work

From system design to operating reality

The evidence is not limited to the existence of the methods. The same capability has been carried into functioning businesses, products, production systems and operating work.

AI Skills Development Institute

AISDI

I am the sole founder, architect, creator and operator of AISDI, launched in January 2025. I built it as an interconnected AI education and workforce capability system rather than a loose course catalogue.

Visit AISDI
  • A five-level architecture connecting AI literacy, responsible use and deeper application.
  • Skills-taxonomy mappings and role-, function-, industry- and workflow-aligned pathways.
  • More than 150 published, authored and in-development courses.
  • An embedded generative-AI co-learning environment supporting contextualisation, understanding and practical outputs under human judgement.
  • A governed course-development system integrating research, framework and pedagogical design, structured authoring, AI-supported production, human review, QA and renewal.
  • Organisational requirements analysis, partner enablement, implementation guidance and enterprise-facing delivery models.

Digital-learning operation

XpertSkills

I founded and led XpertSkills from February 2004 to June 2024. It establishes continuity between my longstanding professional-learning and digital-delivery work and the more recent focus on AI-integrated systems.

  • Led product, platform, commercial, partner, customer and learning-delivery requirements across training, publishing and technology ecosystems.
  • Conceived an AI-supported skills-intelligence and course-recommendation system using structured taxonomies.
  • Led development of a multi-tenant digital-learning platform supporting distinct e-commerce environments.
  • Managed the selection, licensing, adaptation, packaging and distribution of professional technology learning.

AISDI is a separate business. Its courses, learning system and delivery activities remain within AISDI. It is presented here as applied evidence, not as an OOZLE product or a dependent implementation.

Commissioned work

Sometimes the system enables the outcome. Sometimes it is the outcome.

The commercial structure follows the actual requirement rather than assuming that every engagement must adopt, licence or foreground an existing named method.

01

Apply

Use existing methods and system patterns to produce a defined education, capability or human–AI work outcome.

02

Configure and extend

Adapt, combine or extend existing structures for a client’s requirements and operating context.

03

Create

Develop a new client-specific framework, methodology, learning system, capability system or human–AI operating system.

04

Strengthen and operationalise

Reconcile, repair or translate an existing framework into repeatable processes, roles, artefacts, controls and implementation mechanisms.

05

Govern and renew

Establish the evidence, ownership, quality, versioning and review mechanisms required for sustained use and controlled evolution.

Speaking

Selected speaking engagements

Recent sessions have focused on AI-integrated learning, capability development, co-learning, customer education and credentials.

Jan Viljoen

About

Jan Viljoen

I am an independent AI capability and learning consultant, systems thinker and builder. Over more than 25 years, I have created and operated professional-learning, digital-learning and commercial systems.

My work spans requirements analysis, capability and learning architecture, human–AI interaction, framework and methodology development, product creation and operating implementation. OOZLE is the consulting identity through which I apply this capability beyond AISDI.

Discuss a requirement

If you have a complex requirement that needs to become clearer, repeatable or scalable, describe the current situation and the outcome you need. I will assess whether there is a credible fit and what the appropriate first step would be.
